Segoe font being forced

I've been a loyal user of WinSCP for several years, and have even brought it into several companies that I've done consulting for in the past. I've never had a complaint until now.

With version 6.5, why was it necessary to FORCE everyone to use Segoe font? Why not simply add an option in the configuration panel to let people make that choice for themselves?

I use Tahoma as my system font because Segoe is garbage. This is a personal preference. Some people agree, some don't. That's why good software developers give people OPTIONS, and don't FORCE things upon them.

I've been making yearly contributions to WinSCP, but will no longer be doing so until this is either rolled back, OR the user is given a choice to choose whatever freaking font they want to use.

Re: Segoe font being forced

I'm sorry that you do not like it.
First of all, Segoe is the default Windows font since Windows Vista. WinSCP was lagging behind for years. Mostly because we've been using old IDE that defaulted to Tahoma and had problems with Segoe. Now we have finally upgraded (aiming for x64 support). And the new IDE actually does not even work correctly with Tahoma. So rollback is unlikely. Sorry.

I'll see if there's more demand for configurable UI font. I might them try to workaround problems the IDE is having with Tahoma, at least to some degree. But it would likely be lot of work.

Thanks for your support.
