Windows Phone Link / Windows Device in File Explorer to WinSCP

This would be a great feature to be able to use files directly from all Phone Link attached phones, such as for automated backup of phones via WinSCP scripts, etc.

To get the device in File Explorer in Windows 11 as of June 2025:
1. Enable Phone Link
2. Windows Settings > Bluetooth and devices > Mobile devices > enable (may require sign out / reboot to get it working).

It shows up just like any other files in File Explorer, except need to wait for the bytes to be sent.

Windows Paint for example already works the way WinSCP should.
1. Open Paint
2. Browse to the test image and open
3. It sends bytes then shows the image.

The phone and files this way does show up in an application called Acronis True Image. But, something more is needed. That software doesn't wait for the bytes to be sent like Windows Paint does.

Thanks :)

Found a workaround for now. Use a PowerShell script to copy the files to storage that WinSCP can use, and then use WinSCP from there. As PowerShell also has ability to work with those files (browse, read, write, delete, etc).

Nevermind

WinSCP already can from here: "C:\Users\Windows User\CrossDevice\". Its only as a "drive" it doesn't show up, but that isn't necessary anyway.

Should be nothing to do here. Fantastic :-D. I will need to write up a script to be sure though, but in combination with PowerShell anyway, it should work.
