not accepting password

i tried to access a server, but my password was not accepted. i tried the same password and user id in a dosprompt and it worked, repeatedly. i tried again to use winscp, but it failed. the log reported "access denied". when i accessed a different server winscp worked.

please help.

What dosprompt do you mean?
