TEMP dir

Hi!

Is it possible to not use the temp dir when downloading files?

So that Winscp downloads the files directly to the target directory (and not first to the windows temp dir)

Cheers,
Matte

Re: TEMP dir

Temp directory is used only when you download files using drag&drop. When you use keyboard shortcut or menu, files are stored directly to destination folder.

I tried to download large file (650MB) to my D: drive, while the temp space on C: was around 420MB. I did a drag&drop and didn't realize that this won't work. WinSCP crashed with "Stream error" and left the half-transferred file in the temp dir, making the system disk full (0kB free).

If the temp file cannot be created in the dest dir and then renamed, WinSCP should check the remaining space during the process (other programs may be filling space on C: too) - maybe a configurable limit of remaining free space below which it wouldn't go, and normal error message and clean up after itself .. you got the idea .
