Error : exit status 1

Hello I got error message:

Connection has been unexpectedly closed. Server sent command exit status 1. Error skipping startup message. Your shell is probably incompatible with the application (BASH is recommended).

I'm using Windows 2000 and version 4.04. For shell I have option: /bin/bash

What can I do?

What server are you connecting to? Have you tried SFTP instead of SCP?
