Winscp crashes when call external editor

version 4.04 (Build 346)
not only with external editors, but when executing some external command like open browser or put command on Command Line...

Can you give me an example of specific program (editor) and its version? May I also have an email contact to you?

Hey, I'm having the same problem here. Any external editor causes WinSCP to crash when opening any type of files.

I'm using winscp 4.1.6.412, but I tried 4.07 and 4.15 and the same thing happens.

Can anyone help, please? If you need any kind of symptoms collected, please contact me at <email_remoted>
I believe this problem is not happening for everyone as I didnt find it in the bugs section...

Sorry, forgot to mention the external editors I tried (set to open *.*):

- UltraEdit 12.10a
- notepad++ 4.92 (portable version 1.5.7.0)
- windows notepad (5.1.2600.2180, in windows xp professional, version 2002, sp 2)

Any of these show the same problem when opening any files.

Hey, I was browsing through the options of winscp and found the logging option. I set it to debug level 2 and this is what I get after a few bursts of HEXA-like data:
