accents are not correctly display

Local : WinSCP 4.05 on Vista (32), remote Ubuntu 7.10

When looking at files or transfering them, files with accents get some troublesome letters instead of the accents. I can't see any caracter encoding options in the preferences.

I tauthg I could add a screen shot, but can't. :(

ok, I had to put the UTF8 to OFF in WinSCP. This would actually mean that my filesystem on Ubuntu is not UTF8?

No. It may just mean that your SFTP server does not support UTF8.
