SCP Tramsfer Rates

Why do i only get about 1 M/Bs tansfer with SCP on a 100 mb network?

i should get over 6 M/Bs

is it from encrytion overhead?

Can encryption be diabled?

what is the fasted form of encryption?

You may use FTP if you do not need encryption. DES/Blowfish is usually faster. SSH1 is also faster that SSH2.
