Opening multiple files to edit - bug.

I notice that if I configure an external editor (notepad++) as my default.
If I edit a single file it opens in the external editor fine (I love this feature!).
However if I select multiple files, and edit those, they all open in the internal editor.

It should open them with the default editor, which may be an external editor.

I'm not able to reproduce the problem.
Please tell me step by step how to reproduce it.
