Help with 'Ignore Permission Errors'

Hi,

I am encountering this problem when i try to transfer files over using the GUI and also scripting by SFTP:
Upload of file 'file.txt' was successful, but error occurred while setting the permissions and/or timestamp.
If the problem persists, turn on 'Ignore permission errors' option.
General failure (server should provide error description).
Error code: 4
Error message from server:
Request code: 9

This problem seems to happen only when the files to be transferred are empty (0 bytes).

I will really appreciate any help here. Thank you very much.

Re: Help with 'Ignore Permission Errors'

I do not know what is cause of the problem. It may be server-side issue. What is your SSH/SFTP server?
Anyway, have you tried to set Ignore permission errors as suggested in the the message?

Hi,

Unfortunately, I am not able to provide you the address of the SSH/SFTP server (confidential :P). But is it possible to have settings on a folder/directory to disable empty files or such?

Here is the screenshot of my WinSCP settings:- <invalid hyperlink removed by admin>

Hopefully you can help me out here. Thank you very much for your help again.

I do not ask for address. Just for software you use.

Yes, you can exclude empty files. See documentation.

Sorry for the late reply.

Seems like I can use the mask to exclude empty files, which really helps (though I am still not sure why 'Ignore Permission Errors' did not work out).

I want to thank you once more for all the help handed out to me. I really appreciate it :). Have a nice day!

Because it is not permission error, but "general failure".
