Winxp Blue screen of death with winscp

When copying large files (eg 80mb) with winscp, i get to between 50-90% through when Windows crashes with a Blue screen saying it is preventing a dangerous operation. Strangely i get the same behaviour with putty's scp. So its not winscp specific. Has anyone else experienced this? Could it be an issue with the winxp sp3 tcp stack?

Noone else has experienced this issue?

I haven't heard about it. Basically I believe you cannot kill NT-class Windows with regular application, unless there's a bug in driver or Windows themselves.
