Filter for file panel (issue #56). Re-apply every time?

Issue #56 was resolved recently, which is great:

But it appears that I have to re-apply my filters everytime.

It would be great if there were an option for the program to remember my filters.

Or, perhaps there could be an option for a 'global' file filter that would be remembered between program runs and applied to all folders?
