Topic "Automatic upgrades"

Author Message

One thing I've noticed is that the WinSCP team often comes out with updates and I'll get the notification when I open WinSCP the next time. The problem is that it's somewhat annoying to have to go to the page, click on the download, close my existing instance of Winscp, run the installer, and then open it up again. This is especially annoying when I only use Winscp for some quick tasks that only take a minute or two to begin with.

Is there any way to include an automatic update feature so that when you open Winscp and it checks for updates, it can automatically download and update Winscp without requiring you to go to the website? (comparable to how antivirus apps update themselves automatically)

This is really my only main gripe with the program, has it been suggested before?
