using remote custom command in script

Hello,

I've got thousands of files to upload using a script, and to speed things up a bit, I'd like to zip locally and transfer the file (which I know how to do), then unzip the file remotely once it has been transferred. Using the GUI I can unzip the file by using a custom command, but I've not found any documentation indicating how to execute a custom command with a script.

Would appreciate any pointers.
