Is there a setting in WinSCP to have it open files in Read Only mode?

Thanks,

What opening of files do you mean?

On the right side there is a pane that display directories and files from the remote site. If I double click on a file it opens up in a text editor. If I edit the file and then save it it will up date the file on the server.

How do I make it so that if one tries to save a file there will either be an error or confirmation popup before the file is actually overwritten?

Thanks,
