Virtual Box running Ubuntu 10.04

Can anybody help me how can I connect to my Virtual box I am running there Ubuntu server 10.04.Now I need to install there Pentaho BI.I was told that I can install Pentaho there via Winscp.What login info should i put to wincp i tired user name root password alpine and trying to put lot of IP adresses but it is not working.Can anybody help me?
