Pageant authentication not working with 4.3.2 release

I've been using the Pageant included with PortaPutty 0.60 on Win7 x64 with previous versions of WinSCP but as of 4.3.2 it no longer finds the key in Pageant. I downgraded back to Winscp 4.3.1 without changing anything else and it logged in fine.

Yes, I've have exactly the same problem after upgrading to 4.3.2 on Win7 x64. Only difference is that I use the Pageant supplied with WinSCP - version 2010-07-04:r8970.

Can supply the logs if necessary.

Same problem here: Win7 x64, Pageant 0.60.
WinSCP "Portable Executables" 4.3.1 works fine, 4.3.2 does not authenticate

Same problem as above. WinSCP doesn't take key in Pageant. Version 4.2.9 works fine.

But it seems to be a problem in Putty itself, because it also can't manage to authenticate with pageant.exe anymore.

Last WORKING version (I remember): r9020
First NON WORKING version (I found): r9105

Maybe this helps.
I haven't reported this to Putty developers at this time though.

With winscp 4.2.9 it works perfect.

That's useful information. Just to be sure I understand: you have tried to connecting using the latest development version of PuTTY using the latest development version (i.e. the same version) of Pagent. And it did not worked, right?

Yes correct.

I use Pageant 2011-03-04:r9117 and load my key,
than i run putty 2011-03-04:r9117 and connect to the server and he wants passwort from me and don't use the key.

This is a problem from the newest putty version.
And i think WinSCP don't work because you implemented the latest SSH Core from Putty in WinSCP.

Any ideas how to fix that?

I have this same problem Win7 x64 WinSCP 4.3.2 Putty 0.60 (stable version, should I try the dev version?). There is an added annoyance of sometimes if I want to save something (while already having a session open), I get prompted for the passphrase again and then for some reason, I can't minimize the WinSCP window after that. This isn't related to the original Pageant bug except that I would never have been prompted for the passphrase if Pageant+WinSCP worked properly.

I have the same bug now, using Windows 7 64 Bit.
The strange thing is: It used to work fine a few days ago - before i disabled Win7's UAC.

this seems to be coming from the built-in version of putty.

the current devel version of putty has the same problem!

Hi

I tested WinSCP 4.3.2 with dev Pageant version 2011-04-12r9149 and it works fine.
However there is an issue with Pageant in Vista which I reported as bug.

Sorry, I can't confirm this on win2000.
Also latest putty-dev (r9149) still fails to authenticate with pageant.

Me too. WinSCP 4.3.9 (Build 1817) on Win7 x64.

PuTTY 0.60 uses Pageant-stored keys all right. But not WinSCP, it asks for password.

Also same problem after I upgraded to WinSCP 5.1.0 . It does not use the keys loaded into Pageant. Hope this will be fixed soon, it's a bit of a show-stopper.
