winscp + Pageant 0.61 compatibility

It seems that the latest version of putty/pageant has broken winscp+pageant functionality.

Can you try using WinsCP 4.3.2? Please let me know.

I encountered the same problem so I looked here to see if anything was mentioned here. I just grabbed & installed 4.3.2 as you suggested. That version works fine with pageant 0.61.

Three source files where changed in PuTTY that cause the incompatibility:
WINDOWS\WINPGNT.C
WINDOWS\WINPGNTC.C
WINDOWS\WINSTUFF.H

I've reverted those changes and built a custom build of PuTTY 0.61.9203 that is compatible with the "old" PAGEANT implementation. I did so because quite a few tools I use no longer work with the new implementation (DOpus, Cygwin's charade, etc).

Ahh, answered my own question, changed the 433 in the download link to 432. :)

This release upgrades SSH core to PuTTY 0.61 and also fixes several bugs.

I was running winscp 4.3.3
Upgraded to 4.3.4
Pageant stopped working with winscp (pageant was upgraded to v0.61)
My separately installed putty version was version 0.60
Upgraded my putty to 0.61
Pageant starts working with winscp!
Something about them being different versions was messing with it?

So, the fix for me was to simply upgrade both winscp and putty to latest (4.3.4 + 0.61)

I was scratching my head trying to find a compatible PuTTY / Pageant / WinSCP setup (on Windows 7 64 bit).

The problem I kept running into was that either PuTTY would recognise the key in Pageant but WinSCP would not or the opposite (depending on the versions). The following version works perfectly for me:

PuTTY 2011-07-25:r9243
WinSCP 4.3.4 (Build 1428)
Pageant 0.61
