Comment With SFTP, when directory is "entered", WinSCP asks server to normalize the path. Typical servers normalize the symbolic lings into real path. WinSCP may optionally ignore the normalization.

2021-06-29 17:16 Comment Internally implemented as part of Bug 1933, and as such it can be enabled using raw site settings SFTPRealPath=off since 5.19.
Now it can also be configured in the GUI.
