Unable to log in

Hi all,

I'm unable to log in to the WinSCP client after having upgraded one of our coprorate servers. Although I've created a backup of the config file, when I import it I'm still unable to log in, and keep getting the 'Access denied' message with a password prompt.

Could you please assist.

Best regards,

George

Re: Unable to log in

Did you upgrade the server you are connecting to? Or the machine you are connecting from?

Please attach a full session log file showing the problem (using the latest version of WinSCP).

To generate the session log file, enable logging, log in to your server and do the operation and only the operation that causes the error. Submit the log with your post as an attachment. Note that passwords and passphrases not stored in the log. You may want to remove other data you consider sensitive though, such as host names, IP addresses, account names or file names (unless they are relevant to the problem). If you do not want to post the log publicly, you can mark the attachment as private.

Re: Unable to log in

Hi, Martin.

Thank you for you reply. I managed to generate a one-time password via the CLI, and I can successfully log in, however I need to do it for a every new session, and besides I don't have the right permissions to create a new folder or file.
And if I set a master password what username shall I use to log in?

Re: Unable to log in

Hi Galib. I've had a similar problem when updating the WinSCP. I use C# to upload and download files, and I've found I've had to recompile the C# programs with the new DLLs referenced in the project.

OK, then it does not look like WinSCP question. Please talk to your administrator.

Do you mean WinSCP master password? That has nothing to do with your problem.

I believe that Gelib/George uses WinSCP GUI.

Hi Martin,

Thank you for your response. I used a workaround by creating a new folder in the home directory instead of root, and setting required permissions on that particular folder.
I really appreciate your help.

Take care!

George
