Please help! Biggest noob question ever (cuz i'm noob)

hi
i downloaded winscp for use with my ipod touch but i have absolutely no idea whatsoever on how to use it. When i first launch winscp, it starts in the 'stored sessions' and when i go into the 'session' tab and type my ip address and all that and log in, it searches and try's to connects to the host but it says that:
'Host has not answered for more than 15 seconds. Still waiting..
Warning: Aborting this operation will close connection'
I'm curious about that but then I'm also not sure whether I'm doing the right thing or not.

hey guys sry i forgot to mention the ip address was the default gateway but when i use the ip address of my pc it says 'Network Error: Connection refused'
