Having a timeout problem listing remote directories

Hello,

So, I've run into a problem doing a sync over FTPS. I can't tell whether it's a problem with the host or with client on my end. Basically, the connection appears to be established fine, but when it goes to list the directory contents on the remote server, it times out. I have a hunch it's probably something to do with how the server being used by the host is talking back, possibly not being what WinSCP is expecting. But I don't know, so I figured I'd see if anyone had any thoughts.

I'm running WinSCP.com version 4.2.3 from the DOS command line on a Windows 2003 server.

Thanks,
Jon

Here's the command line issued at the DOS prompt:
"C:\Program Files\WinSCP\winscp.com" /script=test.txt /log=test.log
Here's the script test.txt:
option echo off
option batch continue
option confirm off
option transfer automatic
option exclude ".svn;_notes/;NOPIC.JPG;*.log;*.LCK;*.tmp;*.url;google_key.txt;phpinfo.php;Thumbs.db;globals.php;uploaded_files/;irm/dacms/documents/;/_*;Templates/;aspnet_client/;*_MMtmp*/;"
open ftps://username:password@home3.kattare.com -passive -explicittls -certificate="ssh-rsa 2048 94:74:f9:7e:0e:3c:5e:3f:e6:1c:04:87:1f:ce:81:4d:af:3c:68:7c"
cd remote_dir
synchronize remote -delete -criteria=time \\server\path\to\files\
close
exit
And here's the log:

And I've tried with Explicit TLS and SSL with not difference; and with passive both on and off with each of those, with no difference.

Got a little further, but not all the way

Checking that option has given me several attempts that show the directory listing, but time out when I start the sync.
Transfer channel can't be opened. Reason: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.
Could not retrieve directory listing
Entering Passive Mode (65,212,180,47,153,45).
The more I look into this, the more I think it has to do with the way the host has their FTPd configured; or maybe a router. I've been finding lots of chatter online about the ProFTPd server they're using having slight configuration nuances that can cause havoc for FTP clients sometimes, especially when it comes to whether or not the data and control communications are both encrypted. Anyway, I'm trying to get some feedback from other users of the host if any have gotten FTPS working with them and what they're doing.

Thanks, I'll update if anything new happens.

Can you post a log file again? Both showing successful directory listing and failed transfer?

Same issue and learned why, at least on my host server

I get the same message when trying to log on my server. The session begins, then stops with an error message when I use WinSCP or DreamWeaver. However, when I use FileZilla I get a different error message that questions the validity of the host security certificate. This message allows you to agree to use the certificate as is and the connection continues. Neither WinSCP nor DreamWeaver has the ability to accept and show the server security certificate message so it never gets answered and everything times out.
